Newsletter Ensemble Megaphon April 2021

Dear friends of our ensemble,

Even though the conditions for experiencing culture together have still not improved, we have not been idle in creating something new and are looking forward to the coming months full of plans.

Together with the soprano Sophia Körber, we have just staged the 3rd part of our concert walks in the BEWEGT! series for the camera. Now we are looking forward to taking you and you with us on a virus-free and cosy sound walk AM STRASSENRAND. We will present the fourth and last part of the series #SAFEPASSAGE in May, also in digital space.

The Festival Sound Bridgeswhich Musik 21 Niedersachsen is organising as a purely digital festival from 6 to 12 May 2021. The festival motto "Musique spektrale" refers to the work of Giacinto Scelsi. We are very much looking forward on Sun, 9 May at 3 pm there, under the title Natura renovata, to confront Scelsi's music with those who have an inner connection to his work, such as Salvatore Sciarrino, Galina Ustvolskaja, Helena Tulve and Ehsan Ebrahimi. Unique and at the same time an adventure in this Corona period is the collaboration with the double bass player Krzysztof Korzeń - who comes from the UNESCO City of Music Katowice. In this first creative encounter, we will premiere a work with him that was written especially for the festival.
