Under the title Planet Messiaen is dedicated to the 1 - 10 May 2015 the Festival Sound Bridges by the Hanover State Opera, the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and Musik 21 Niedersachsen with several independent ensembles - including the Ensemble Megaphon - one of the most important composers of the 20th century, who left a lasting mark on music after 1945 with his extensive oeuvre.Oliver Messiaen was a synaesthete. This innate peculiarity in the perception of sensory stimuli takes the Ensemble Megaphon as an opportunity to present in his concert Words, colours, gestures, numbers at 2 May at 7.30 pm at Ballhof II compositions that are also characterised by special aspects in perception. So we are very pleased, Helmut Oehringone of the most sought-after composers in Germany, for our concert. As a child of deaf parents, he has a special access to the perceptual world of the deaf.

Julia Mihály, Joachim Zoepf and Andre Bartetzki will also deal with the linking of different sensory qualities and artistic forms of expression in their compositions, each in a very specific way.

There will be an introduction to the concert at 7 pm.
