She is supported by the German National Academic Foundation and was a long-time scholarship holder of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hannover. In 2015 she received a scholarship for singing from the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation. In her youth, she was a national prize winner at the\u00a0<em>Youth plays music\u00a0<\/em>and two-time prize-winner at the Lotte Lehman Week in Perleberg.<\/p>\n<p>After studying bachelor's singing in Hanover and Florence, Sophia K\u00f6rber completed her master's degree in opera singing with Prof. Marina Sandel in Hanover in 2016. She was also in the song class of Prof. Jan Philip Schulze. She is currently continuing her studies in the solo class with Prof. Marina Sandel. She received special impulses in master classes with KS Prof. Brigitte Fassbaender, KS Prof. Roman Trekel, Prof. Ulrike Sonntag, Aribert Reimann, Peter Berne, Maria Husmann-Hein and Sarah Maria Sun. In 2017 she taught as a vocal coach at the Werkstatt Junger Komponisten Hannover.<\/p>\n<p>She made her operatic debut back in 2009 as Papagena in Mozart's\u00a0<em>Magic Flute<\/em>\u00a0in Klein Leppin. In 2014 she performed as 1st boy in the summer production of the\u00a0<em>Magic Flute<\/em>\u00a0in the Bad Orb Opera Academy. In 2016 she appeared as the Nightingale in\u00a0<em>L'enfant et les sortil\u00e8ges<\/em>\u00a0in Hanover and as First Elf in\u00a0<em>Rusalka<\/em>\u00a0at Warberg Castle. Guest engagements have taken her to the Osnabr\u00fcck Theatre several times. In 2017 she sang the Unknown in the world premiere of\u00a0<em>The rain passed over<\/em>\u00a0by Snezana Ne\u0161ic at the Ballhof in Hanover and the part of Adela in\u00a0<em>Bernarda Alba's House<\/em>\u00a0by Aribert Reimann in Berlin. In 2018, under the baton of Howard Arman, she sang the role of Iris in H\u00e4ndel's\u00a0<em>Semele<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Sophia K\u00f6rber is also very active in concert, oratorio and new music: she has sung under the baton of conductors such as Fran\u00e7ois-Xavier Roth, Erich Polz, Peter van Heyghen, Philipp Ahmann, Axel Kober, J\u00f6rg Straube, Antonius Adamske and Martin Dietterle and performed works by Bach, Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Mozart, Gy\u00f6rgy Ligeti, John Cage, Iris Szeghy and Sir Harrison Birtwistle. She has worked regularly with the Ensemble Megaphon since 2016. In 2018 she was with the Belgian Baroque Ensemble\u00a0<em>Les Muffatti<\/em>\u00a0as a soloist at the Magdeburg Telemann Festival, in Brussels and Luxembourg. Recently she sang with the\u00a0<em>Schola Heidelberg\u00a0<\/em>Mahler's 3rd Symphony with the G\u00fcrzenich Orchestra under the baton of Fran\u00e7ois-Xavier Roth in the Cologne Philharmonie.
