This concert is all about the perception of the world through listening alone: The Ensemble Megaphon combines four sequences by Luciano Berio, live electronic intermezzi and its own compositions with the story \u201eEin K\u00f6nig horcht\u201c by Italo Calvino in an acoustic collage. Both works - Berio's sequences and Calvino's story - deal with listening as a central theme. The audience will be given eye masks at the beginning of the concert and are invited to experience the concert exclusively by listening in the dark.<\/p>\nIn Calvino's story, the king tries to grasp the whole world around him by listening.
\nLike the king's throne in the story, the piano stands in the centre of the room and the audience sits around it while the musicians play in the space between the audience members. Selected text passages by Calvino, recorded by Tayfun Bademsoy and\/or spoken live by the singer Sophia K\u00f6rber, are played.\n

After the concert, we invite you to an open discussion with the artists, accompanied by a drink.<\/p>\n
