Hanover.<\/strong> What do the pandemic and lockdown do to artists who have had to reorganise and do without live performances and direct audience contact for months? The answer was given last weekend. Ensemble Megaphon and ensemble \"Sozusingen\" presented an epidemic-historical-musical city tour in Hanover's city centre.<\/p>\n
\"Lenka \u017dupkova and her team of directors came up with an ingenious idea and created an interdisciplinary piece of musical theatre. At six original locations, the actors acted, recited, sang, danced and made music to their heart's content - always enriched with well-researched historical facts, presented in a tongue-in-cheek and extremely likeable manner. A small but interested audience was taken on a musical-theatrical tour of the historic pandemic sites and confronted with vivid, extremely moving historical facts from Hannover's epidemic history. It was sensual, visually powerful and provocative - but always entertaining. The performance, in which even the musicians were involved, became extremely lively street music theatre thanks to the conceptually planned street noises and conversations with passers-by. The score by Montenegrin composer Tatjana Prelevic was practically tailor-made for the ensembles. The long-standing collaboration with project manager Lenka \u017dupkova, who leads the team of directors and artists, and visual artist Inge-Rose Lippok, who designed the set and costumes, resulted in a work with moving depths, which was realised based on the texts by Tayfun Bademsoy and Katharina Peter. Oren Lazovski danced impressively as the Angel of Death, the Beast and the Fool and played the accordion almost incidentally, while clarinettist Vlady Bystrov played the Magician and Pied Piper and led the procession to the next place. Grzegorz Krawczak on cello as a doctor and Kai Altendorf on drums as an alchemist and medieval cook completed the action. The choristers from \"Sozusingen\" skilfully and routinely took on the role of the Greek choir as well as the plague mask performances and the rat regiment. Marianne Knoblauch, Eva-Maria K\u00f6sters, Heide M\u00fcller, Simon Jass and Jorge Kr\u00f6ger were experienced vocal artists who enriched the evening in every respect. The performance by Lena Castrup, who appeared as a tour guide, presenter, quiz master, androgynous being, virus and seductive Eva, was downright delightful.<\/p>\n
At the end, the enthusiastic audience was enriched by many facts and an extremely enjoyable evening. The ensembles bid farewell with the famous Comedian Harmonists classic \"Irgendwo, auf der Welt gibt's ein kleines bisschen Gl\u00fcck\" (\"Somewhere in the world there's a little bit of happiness\") and earned well-deserved, long-lasting applause. \" Hans Krauss, musicologist and journalist<\/p>\n
