50 Years of the Schaumburger Märchensänger Music School – A Changing Era

In 2026, the Schaumburger Märchensänger e. V. music school will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Under the theme „A New Era – from yesterday to tomorrow with new formats”, we invite you to a special anniversary series from 25 to 27 September 2026.

In collaboration with Ensemble Megaphon from Hanover, which is taking part in all three concerts, as well as with the pupils, teachers, ensembles and choirs of the music school, extraordinary musical encounters are taking place, blending classical music, improvisation, musical theatre and interactive concerts. The ensemble’s musicians have not only helped to shape the programmes, but have also played music, improvised and developed new pieces together with the pupils.

You can look forward to three varied concert formats:

• Sat 25 Sept, 7.00 pm, Bückeburg Town Church:
  „The Sparrow Mass and Mozart Echoes“ – Mozart’s Sparrow Mass in dialogue with improvisation and new soundscapes.
• Saturday 26 September, 7.00 pm, Bückeburg Town Hall:
  „Max and Moritz & Pious Helene“ – a humorous blend of music, theatre and Wilhelm Busch.
• Sunday 27 September, 5.00 pm, Bückeburg Town Hall:
  „Experiencing Music – Our Favourite Songs“: personal stories about music, self-produced short films and creative sound experiments.

Over 100 participants are working together with Ensemble Megaphon to create this special anniversary series. The festival brings together different generations, artistic diversity and the joy of making music together, and impressively showcases the creative work of the music school in its 50th anniversary year.
