Dance + Concert

Thu 29 Oct, 7.00 pm Dance jam: improvisations & live music

Led by Cara Rother
Doors open from 6.30 pm.

Admission: Pay what you can

THERE ARE STILL PLACES AVAILABLE!  Please bring comfortable clothes, your water bottle and a positive attitude. We dance in socks or barefoot. Please do not wear non-slip socks or wear clothes that have been washed with fabric softener, as this will make the dance floor very slippery.

The jam is open to all dance enthusiasts. Cara will lead an improvisation session with some simple prompts. So we’ll all be dancing together, yet each in our own way. You don’t need any dance experience to take part. Open to all ages.

There are toilets and showers on site, but changing facilities are limited.

The moon is the master of endless loops. We follow the moon’s gravitational pull and its light, and go round with it a few times. Sounds circle, images rotate, movements intertwine. Ensemble Megaphon immerses itself in the magic of repetition.
Classical and contemporary music blend with improvisation. Using loops, remixes and overdubbing, the ensemble explores the effect of repetition.
All the artists are also performers, allowing sounds, images and movements to circulate throughout the space. The audience becomes part of the loop. Right at the heart of the action – listening, watching, singing, moving – the musical form can be experienced as a pulsating process: familiar, hypnotic and constantly changing.
